From Jerome’s Commentary on the Letter to the Galatians:
Nec rusticus tamen et simplex frater ideo se sanctum putet, si nihil noverit, nec peritus et eloquens, lingua aestimet sanctitatem. multoque melius est e duobus imperfectis rusticitatem habere sanctam quam eloquentiam peccatricem.
Comm. in Ep. ad Gal. 52.9.
Yet neither should a rough and simple brother quite think himself holy, if he knows nothing, nor should a skilled and eloquent man reckon sanctity by the tongue. And the much better of the two imperfect options is to have holy roughness than a sinner’s eloquence.
Which reminds me. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest provider of abortion (I mention this because my father once—recently—told me that they do not even provide abortions). Nor does Planned Parenthood provide mammograms, according to the organization’s official website. You may have heard differently from someone you trust recently…
But then, it doesn’t really matter whether we trust them, does it?
In other news, the Green party candidate and her running mate were imprisoned in Nasau county yesterday for attempting to enter the Democrats-and-Republicans party’s debate.
Thanks, dear reader, should you ever find me, for being my gadfly.
